Next workshop is on the 10th of November in Stanford. It is going to be all about bread and things that taste good with bread. You will learn how to make a sourdough starter from scratch and a loaf of sourdough bread which you will take home to bake the next day. How about some kefir cheese to go with your bread? Learn to make both soft and hard kefir cheese. We need to get going early in the morning at 08H00 on the dot. We will break for lunch and carry on till at least 17H00.
There will be tea, coffee, fermented drinks and water available throughout the day. I would like everyone to bring along a plate of snacks to share for lunch. If you are already a cultured fermenter then bring along some of your fermented fare for us to taste.
You will be going home with a loaf of sourdough bread to bake after it has sat in the fridge overnight and a starter so that you can get busy baking as soon as possible. And of course notes, notes and more notes but mostly flour in your hair and on your clothes and dough stuck to your hands.
The cost per person for the day is R500.00 and numbers will be limited. Not to worry though, if you cannot make it to this one, I will be doing more in January and February. Payment will secure your spot and I will send you bank details when you confirm attendance.
I will send out a list of what you need to bring closer to the time.
This is such fun and I am very excited to be doing this workshop. If you want to read a bit more about sourdough have a look here.
Would you like to host and organise your own workshop? Give me a shout!
